A project to replace the rails and support system for the world famous Lynton & Lynmouth cliff railway.

Opened in 1890, this masterpiece of Victorian water-powered engineering ascends and descends 500 feet. We have undertaken a project to replace the entire 862 feet of rail and support system over a 5 year period for the Lynton & Lynmouth cliff railway. Work took place over the Christmas period allowing the attraction to continue working throughout the year.

This eco-friendly railway must be the envy of engineers everywhere.
